Youth Social Action Festival

Challenge
The Act for Change Fund required a platform to deliver a week-long online festival addressing systemic issues such as changing the narrative for young people and challenging stereotypes by sharing lived experience of injustice and inequality. They also required support in identifying, reaching and effectively engaging their key target demographic for these events.

Solution
To address these challenges Creative Cause developed a responsive website that included event posting functionality, linking together organisation profiles to events and booking functionality. This was achieved by utilising WordPress, implementing SEO optimised copy, interactive maps, and dynamically optimised landing pages. We then executed an omni-channel month-long acquisition campaign involving situation analysis/market research, objective setting, defining audience segments and developing campaign personas for targeting, customer journey mapping and conversion tracking. Delivering a content strategy through segmented emails, search/display PPC, as well as building a following from scratch on Instagram requiring campaign artwork design and social advertising.

Result
Over the course of a single month we went from 0 users to 3.2k, achieving 21k pageviews and an average session duration of 02:52. Through display and search marketing we achieved 400k impressions with a CTR of 0.6% and through social media we reached 78k people through organic and sponsored posting. Resulting in 32 participating organisations, 29 events, 120+ contributing young people and 500+ online event delegates.

Feedback
“We thought Creative Cause did a brilliant job – the website was very functional, nice looking, fulfilled the brief and was responsive to the young people’s wishes. And with such a short amount of time to do it. They were also incredibly responsive and understood some pretty convoluted and rapid requests.”

Educational Charity Member Growth

Challenge
Since the appointment of the new CEO in 2019 the Association for Character Education prioritised growth of the ACE community, enabling the charity to facilitate planned, intentional, and fully embedded character and values across the whole-school or organisation of members. Underpinning this required an infrastructure for a membership journey that allows member to work toward the accreditation of the ‘School/Organisation of Character Kitemark’, and using their experience, provide best practice resources to other members as a to support the community, transforming their ethos and culture.

Solution
To support ACE to develop their vision Creative Cause began by redeveloping the website as well as the pathway-to-purchase by customer journey mapping, allowing us to develop a coherent narrative through an easy to navigate online portal, effectively educating prospects by efficiently communicating membership benefits/pricing, and providing accreditation frameworks. As well as improving the acquisition process we allocated a significant amount of resources to member retention, ensuring we were providing members with sufficient vale by implementing member exclusive access to video content, interviews, and best practice school resource downloads. As well as optimising communications through high quality segmented email communication, facilitating 1-1 consultations and CPD training, and engaging with members and prospects through social media.

Result
We saw a 63% increase in members between October 2020-21, doubling website traffic, as well as a 70% increase in kitemark accreditations. Establishing a Twitter channel and gaining over 400 followers in 18-months. Maintaining a membership subscriber database of over 600 individuals, delivering personalised messaging through email triggers, optimised through AB testing.

Feedback
“Creative Cause are consistently effective in responding to our more immediate needs, but have also been critical in developing a longer term strategic approach to our marketing and communications. Their positive and solution focused approach has played an important role in the growth of ACE.”

Academic Communications Strategy

Challenge
Harvard University’s ‘Human Flourishing Program’ required support in establishing a communication strategy, allowing them to distinguish a brand identity and communication assets, targeted to the academic research community, students, private donors, and the general public, to expand their reach and share their academic course/papers/findings.

Solution
Our first priority was developing a logo and brand identity that utilises Harvard’s globally identifiable brand guide, giving the programme a distinct and memorable identity that leverages Harvard’s brand equity. As well as designing and publishing a visually engaging programme brochure/magazine showcasing the various aspects of the programme, its research goals, findings to date, impact had on the community, and affiliated research associates.

Result
The communication strategy was implemented, generating donor interest and support. The brand has distinguished the programme as both an arm of Harvard but also an independent programme, with the brochure utilised as a talking piece and as a leave behind when meeting with prospective and existing donors.

Feedback
“We chose Creative Cause because of their experience developing visually attractive niche academic resources. They were able to provide a lot of creative energy while developing our program brand and brochure, adding value by understanding our purpose, and how best to communicate our message to our target audience.”
